Shadowed Pain

Shadowed Pain

A Poem by Katherine Cabrera

Shadowed Pain

The staining image refuses to go.

It remains recurring in my mind,

How revealing,

How bewildering.

Your arms wrapped around her,

Your hands touching her,

And I simply observing.

Yet my figure not present, my mind seems to know.

As my heart continues to flow in this current,

I am drowning,

I am dying,

I am free.

Yet, in my death, the image of her remains.

Thank you.
I can relate to this so much. I can feel the emotion when you say "I am drowning, I am dying, I am free."
