Ignored

Ignored

A Poem by K. Bridgid

If I were to yell

Would anybody hear me

If I were to go missing

Would anybody look for me

If I were to call at midnight

Would anybody pick up the phone

Because it feels like I’m screaming

It feels like I’m running away

And I have dialed the phone

But nobody heard me

Nobody came searching

And no one picked up

So I will no longer waste my breath

I will no longer flee

And I will not make the call

Because it’s not worth the effort

It’s not worth the energy

Only to be ignored

Ugh, this is heartbreaking and your words reach deep into the pain.
There are moments like this that we feel we'll never come out of, but pray we do.
