My Addiction

My Addiction

A Poem by K. Bridgid

My addiction

It does not lie in food or drink

My addiction

It does not let me think

Because of my addiction

I must hide away

Because of my addiction

I have to keep myself at bay

My addiction

It rests in causing myself harm

My addiction

Is etched in my legs and hips and arms

Because of my addiction

People stare

Because of my addiction

I make others feel scared

My addiction

It calls to me every night

My addiction

It makes me question if it’s worth the fight

Because of my addiction

My mind is always foggy

Because of my addiction

I wear scars all over my body

My addiction

It prevents me from being happy

My addiction

It makes me hurt ever so badly

Because of my addiction

I need all the courage I can conjure

Because of my addiction

I will come out stronger

Very good poem. My friend Molly use to cut herself. Did the entire alphabet once. I hated it, but she continued. Anyways, just be careful. There are other ways. I smoke weed. :)
