To Believe A LieA Poem by kbobIs there truly any real reason for war. It is easily avoidable, but one man's ambition and hate means the loss of many others' lives. There is no wrong and right There is only justice and pride What’s left of good and bad is your decision You must pick your side There is little truth In a war ridden ground But the lies are so deceptive That only truth can be found This will be our stand This will be our tomb This is our newborn life This is our doom We have no fair reason Beyond dusts and sands But we can barely see passed The warm blood on our hands It trickles down our fingertips And lingers into our spirit But with the protective morale inside us Our eyes may be relit A flame burns bright in our hearts But the light grows dim as time fades We lose friends one by one Slowly, shadows turn to shades The sky burns red In imitation of a world yet to fold This is the last page of our lives But victory is what will be told The valor surpasses the strength But it won’t last through the night Eventually we will have to rely on faith If we wish to win this fight Blinded by soot and ash Bound by false motivation Circumstances lose importance We must protect without hesitation We need not know the reason For punishment must be dealt They invaded our lives They will feel what we felt When all is over When the tossed dirt calms A worn battlefield is revealed Filled with lifeless palms Nothing is worth this A senseless death is just suicide But in a reasonless skirmish Only unneeded loss can reside © 2008 kbobAuthor's Note
