The Death of Me

The Death of Me

A Poem by kbob
"

What would you do at the point of absolute misery?

"

She let me know it was over

As if it didn’t matter at all

After something so heartless

A man can’t stand tall

I take this pain peacefully

But this hole keeps getting bigger

Is it okay if I swallow my pride

Along with a little liquor?

Pushed to the breaking point

Drunk as all hell

I sit here on a bridge

She wouldn’t care if I fell

I look below at the crashing waves

Farther than I can see

This emptiness in my chest

Will be the death of me
