Hermes SongA Poem by kbjamiHermes’ Song I pray to you the messenger God The God of travelers and thieves The trickster son of Zeus Help for I’m on my knees I do not want to die Just because of the thieves I don’t want to see you Take my soul to Hades The God who slayed Hera’s beast The beast with 100 eyes As the trickster God you are A forever story you try As the beast fell asleep Every eye gradually shuts Must make sure each eye is close Before you try to cut You take out your godly sword And with one move, off his head! Hera’s beast named Argus Is now forever dead Oh Hermes the athletic one Who invented some sports we play Like the sport of boxing And many more to say But now where are you? I’m just oh so confused I’ve praised you oh so much I guess we all lose As I lay on the road Just waiting to die A fast godly man came It was Hermes I see fly With his wings on his feet And on the cap on his head Hermes saved me life Now I shall not be dead © 2011 kbjami |
