Cheers! Cheers!A Poem by kbjamiA poem inspired by a passage from Kierkegaard's journalCheers Cheers! We
yell! We yell cheers and it
Travels like a bell The ring that give
out Through the cheers
and chatter we shout Cheers Cheers Cheers Everyone happy with
their cheers No sadness or
melancholy exists Cheers With the music
playing And the drinks
spilling and clinging And the guests
drinking Cheers With more guests
drinking Cheers Drink! Cheers! Drink!
Cheers Cheers Everyone so happy see
one another With the center of
attention being all Cheers We raise our glasses
many of times Chimes of the glasses Cheers! To my piers I give
cheers! Then the clock
strikes Cheers But the last few
cheers For everyone must
leave We give our last good
bye around Cheers cheers cheers Cheers The door is closed
with the final Cheers! Then the music goes
off and all go away Fear fear Comes across the mind Tears Tears within mind Even with all the
joyful bells of recent past A strange desire for
a bullet blast Cheers! © 2013 kbjami |
