Sweet DreamsA Poem by K.MarieThe emotional absence of a father.Your eyes are evil in indescribable ways Red as blood black as night my own vision starts to haze My throat tightens like my knuckles and fist If I chose to hate you'd be next to Hitler on my list You killed me emotionally, like the Jews were shot Your words hit me hard, then I fall and I rot See we of the FATHERLESS tribe, as Gina Loring, a poet once read... Live different lives than girls that sit down with their daddies at dinner and happily go to bed But some of us are dealt an angry "dad" yelling screaming pounding my head down to my bed And what he said, man what he SAID! Cut me so deep my heart ripped open and bled What have I done or said that's so wrong? And why does life at 16 seem so long? Why has every hit strike like lightening but soon after fades? Is it natural to be resilient to violence every single day?
Ran out of that house found a place I could scream A place so peaceful, puget sound's shore in the immense dark of night, beauty in glowing lights, so serene I cried hard an loud till I fell asleep on that bench and visualized my future within my dreams
