Suspend Reality

Suspend Reality

A Poem by that-little-green-monster
"

A poem I wrote when I was sick, I can't promise it'll make sense.

"

Suspend all of the reality,

If only for one minute.

Just let it be you and me,

And forget all I've done.

Suspend reality,

Let it melt from around us.

Forget our fights,

Our threats to leave,

Having you thinking I'll never stay.

Suspend reality,

Give me one more talk,

One more chance,

To make everything right again.

I didn't mean the things I said,

And I don't think you did either.

Suspend reality,

Take a moment to remember,

All of our memories.

Lazy summer days,

Basking in the warm, silken sun.

Suspend reality,

Forget what your friends all said about me.

A moment with you,

My heart's desire.

Suspend reality,

Please don't walk away,

Without hearing my reasoning,

My excuses,

My pleas for you to stay.

Suspend reality,

And don't demand a reason,

But if you must;

Suspend reality,

Because I love you.
