Masks on Tight

Masks on Tight

A Poem by that-little-green-monster
"

Inspired by a song.

"
The swish of ball gowns,
Stirs something within me.
Your mask's on so tight,
You can be anyone you want to be.

What a magic trick you are,
Protected by the wall you made.
What a curious sight you are,
You take my hand and dance with me.

I don't want to masquerade with you anymore,
I want to know who you are.
I don't want to play games anymore,
You won't be able to hide your face forever.

Take off your mask.
Take off your mask.

I'm prepared for the worse,
For a monster to be under your mask.
And I,
I won't mind,
If you take off your mask,
And you don't love me.
