Goodbye Me

A poem about a fictional girl but very true things that happen sometimes when people are bullied.

"You're so fat,
Why do you even try?
You're so pathetic,
And everyone thinks so."

The mirror shattered at her feet,
The crimson dripping from her fingers.
The scars forever on her wrists,
Her heart too torn to beat.

She contemplates her choices,
And gazes at the knife that could set her free.
She tried her hardest,
To be the best person she could be.

Nobody really cares,
About her hardships.
Nobody notices,
The scars forever on her wrists.

The small flame of hope,
She use to keep alive,
Is quickly extinguished.
She avoids her reflection,
To avoid the truth.

This is a sharp and vivid description of exactly how this feels. The title is perfect too, while the slow death of this reality is exactly portrayed. You did a really good job with every choice you made here: words, rhythm, lines. Everything flows and builds, nothing snags. Good work, hard topic, horrific reality. I think more poetry like this would help bridge the gap and appease the pain.

This is a deep write filled with much sadness. Very well written and wonderfully described. I used to write poetry like this... I can relate. It's a well worded piece.
