giving up

You hide your pain with a smile,
To brighten up everyone else's day,
Sometimes it’s a real smile,
but that's only because you thought you forgot about it..
your wrong.
you think that by not talking about it,
holding it in ,
it'll make it go away.
your wrong again.
you think there's no one like you,
there your right,
there is no one like you,
because your unique, special,
in your own way.
They say they understand you,
but in reality they don't.
they don't understand what it means,
to be in pain
to hide those feelings from everyone,
but still you put on a fake smile,
that only one person can see through,
they see the pain that lies beneath your eyes,
the hurt and anger you hide from everyone.
you look away.
embarrassed they saw the truth,
you see love in their eyes,
and you try to open up,
but you've be put down so much.
you don't know who to trust.
they say you can trust me,
but those are just words.
there's no proof.
they also say ill never hurt you,
but in the end they always do.
they say your different,
but they don't say if that's good or bad.
so you sit up all night wondering what they mean,
until you realize.
you don't need them, they’ll hurt you,
say lies, that’s what “friends” do.
they say they are there for you,
then turn their backs when things get tough.
its just like love,
they say they'll be together forever,
then just give up in the end.
