honey I'm home

honey I'm home

A Poem by mikayla baldwin
"

short, sweet, simple

"
5 months later I'm still infatuated with the just thought of you.
but I feel as though it's unrequited. you're gone all day and when you finally come home
you walk past the kitchen, through the living room and into the bedroom
I'm merely another coffee table
to you at least
but to me
I'm the fireplace behind the tv even though you distract yourself from me
I still burn for you, keep the room warm. and one thing is for certain...
you never forget to put me out
