if and only if

if and only if

A Poem by mikayla baldwin

and it's with him
i feel lost
questioning why
answered why not
unsure of what's soon to come
if you were real
you'd give me some
hope
is the mind
relying on something else
it's the faith in your heart
and the bible on the shelf
its covered in
dust
me over with lies
say he's just testing you
how do i pass
a test with no right answers
no matter which way i choose
no wonder
i've been searching for the
right answer
in the wrong book
looking for yes
when im always answered no
i'll clean my palette and let
the paint
run
diluted by promises
from someone with no power
someone with no essence
when someone who has found presence
because a god
giving out love
with exceptions
is no god at all
