i'm here to sell you a house,
sell you this house,
not rent it out.

because the one before
left paint chipping
and broken windows.

when they left
i managed to
confiscate their key.

you're allowed to paint the walls,
rearrange the furniture, replenish the garden
but whatever project begins must be followed through

mortgage is basically free,
as long as this is your home
and not just a house.

you can NOT treat this as the previous owner did,
i had to foreclose this house,
too many leaky pipes, too many holes in the wall.

i was hoping a responsible guy such as yourself,
could take on the challenge of fixing
what was damaged by the one before.

here's your key,
or maybe
we should just change the locks?

Very interesting perspective. As someone who moved around a lot, I know all about this :)
