Mister GoodbyeA Poem by Kaylee April
Loneliness is a stalker that trails behind you on cold days
and you know he is there and you know there is a knife in his pocket and his gloves are stained a familiar shade of red and you are unsure whether his slips something into your coffee every few mornings But you see his umbrella at the bus stop And then with his hands around the throat of the fat man in the back of the lecture hall His finger to the lips of the girl with ever shaking hands And suddenly you can't finish your lunch because you can feel his long fingers massaging your scalp As he whispers "They don't love you anymore," And you erase those words you were typing to that friend And suddenly you can't say "hello" anymore Without someone saying it first and then not at all
