Wings

Wings

A Poem by Kaylee

A new pair of wings ricochets against obscure confinement,
with desperate jolts to be free.
The graceful flutters become obsessively violent.
The balance falls to entropy.

Delicate curvatures begin to schism.
Beauty starts to spoil.
Soul and soil in a cataclysm,
nerves begin to coil.

The seal forfeits its possession of the being.
The freedom summons delight.
In sync with the rhythm of peaceful breathing,
the pair of wings catches flight.
