Waiting

Waiting

A Poem by Kaylee

A subtle climax, no worse or better
A desire to endure until the cue
Thoughts dispersed as rippled letters
A gate unsafe to enter through

Tempting clarity taunts desperation
A minute crevice summons a glance
Dangling near it, a decoration
A discerning eye avoids a wasted chance

Insisting on impulse, a mind persists
Hesitant, a heart slows its beat
Undecided, a girl consults her wrist
For the hands of the clock to inspire her feet
