Forbidden Love

Forbidden Love

A Poem by Kaylee Marlin

You opened my heart and soul,

Made me look inside to see what you see,

My eyes opened for the first time,

And a feeling I never will admit swept over me.

Seeing you throws me off balance,

You make me lose track of my life,

And as I fall deeper in love with you,

I notice I’m standing on the tip of a double sided knife.

No matter how I feel I know in my mind,

That what I feel for you is unspeakable and wrong,

It’s forbidden in the eyes of others so why isn’t it in mine,

But you still got through the barriers that have been guarding my

heart for so long.

I’m numb with the feeling of love you caused,

You’re my personal drug meant only for me,

But still I can’t make myself tell you,

That I don’t want to be bound I want to be free.

I don’t know how to say what I feel,

All of this happened because of you,

It’s something I never wanted to experience,

Not just forbidden love but true love too.

My heart is crushed and breaking bit by bit,

You were the first to ever break in,

I don’t know how to voice my true feelings,

But what I do know is that what I feel is a sin.
