Worth It

A poem about choices.

Difficult are choices made than one can never change,

But harder still are choices one must make anew each day.

It’s been said that dying once is easy,

But choosing to live each morning is difficult

The same way it is harder to live life to its fullest

But its easy to just go through the motions

Living a lie takes only one choice

But living in the truth takes every day

One can enter darkness once

Or must choose to follow in the light forever

One must choose only once to stop

Or choose continuously to move forward

It takes one choice to slide down a hill

But a choice for each and every step to the top of one

Ignorance is easy

Learning new things every day takes effort

Quitting a sport is easy

Practicing every day is difficult

Starting drugs is easy

Yet quitting them is hard

It seems to be that sometimes the hardest choices are the most important

Ignoring God is easy

But choosing to follow him every day is difficult

The path Hell is easy

The path to Heaven is worth it

wow. i agree with Wicahpi lyozaza: the last two lines were my favourite. they were the most powerful to me, but i think the whole poem was awesome. all these scenarios are very true, and this was a very inspirational piece. :)
