No One Else

No One Else

A Poem by TheKaylaPup
"

She's being abused and only one person notices whats going on. Even they don't say anything.

"

I sit in the back of the classroom,

Just another face it the crowd,

No one else sees the pain,

No one else sees her frown.

She sits in the far back corner,

Pretending to hear whats taught,

No one can see her pain,

The war in which she has fought.

The wars based on her survival,

Though nobody else can see,

Her battle seems never ending.

Nobody knows but me.

I feel her scared emotions,

I know the pain she feels,

I see behind her mask,

To me her secrets are revieled.

No one else sees her bruises,

No one else sees her scars,

No one else knows she's starving,

No one else knows she's lost.

She wont come to school tomorrow,

The teachers will think she skipped,

No one will know the truth through,

The fact that she can't persist.

I should have told someone at this point,

I knew what was hapening to her,

No one else for her savior,

Only I could do something for her.

Weeks pass and this continues,

As it has all her life,

She school thinks she's always skipping,

The truth is she gets in some fights.

Until one day she just stops coming,

Not for days but for weeks she's not there.

The school tries to call her parents,

But it seems that nobody is there.

Finally the cops get involved,

She's found locked nearly dead in her room,

Her father's passed out on the sofa,

She's straving and bloody and brusied.

She's taken to the local hospital,

But its said that they were to late,

She died that night just the same,

And no body remebers her name.

I let her pain countinue,

In essence its my flaut she's dead,

No one else could have saved her,

I knew it all and still nothing was said.

I sat in the back of the class room,

Just anouther face it the crowd,

No one else saw her pain,

No one else saw her frown.

Ah, well, in my opinion. The one who saw, and knew, had the power to help as well. Keeping silent about these things is never the best option, if you think there's something wrong often enough there is. You help when you tell someone who can stop it.

Sorry, I have no patience for the so-called "innocent bystander"

But it was an incredible piece, it told a very good story. I liked it. Truly. Great job.

This brought tears to my eyes. I think this can kind of be a lesson. For those who tease, stop. For you have no idea what goes on at home. For those who know what goes on.. get them help, or try to help them, for you never know if one day will be the last time you ever see a person. Very nice poem :)
