Chapter 8

Louis took me to urgent care and although he was there with me, he felt distant.

“Hey, are you okay?” I asked, putting my coat back on and getting ready to leave. Louis just looked at me and nodded, but I could sense the tension in his body. He just walked out to the car and I followed behind him.

“I think I’ll go to my mom’s house for a few days,” I said softly as I slipped back into the car.

“What? Why?” he asked, panic in his voice. I shrugged, starting the car and driving to my house.

“I haven’t been home in a while, and after all the incidents lately, I think I should go home and we can both just take a break and relax for a while,” I whispered, taking a sharp turn. Louis grasped the handle above him and he looked at me. His eyes were dark, but his voice showed concern.

“What’s wrong with that?” I asked, sensing the tension in the car. He shook his head and turned back to the look out the window.

“I don’t know what’s gotten into you Louis, but it’s really starting to piss me off,” I grumbled, pulling into the driveway. Louis turned around quickly in his seat to face me and he pinned my shoulders up against the window.

“You have no f*****g idea what I’m going through right now,” he growled and he released me. He got out of the car and slammed the door. I sat in the car for a moment before I slowly got out and went inside. Louis was nowhere to be found, and I didn’t care. I went to my room and started packing up a suitcase so I could go home. What was Louis going through that was making him so incredibly irritable? He was a demon, but he was worse than when I’d first met him. I took a deep breath and carried my bag out to the car. I saw Louis by the car and I hesitated.

“How long are you going to be gone?” he asked avoiding my eyes, and a cigarette in hand. I shrugged.

“I don’t know. Few days,” I answered, but my answer wasn’t cutting it for him.

“4 days,” I groaned and he put his cigarette out. He brushed past me without another word and went into the house. I stood there in disbelief for a moment before I got in my car and started to my house.

****LOUIS’S POV****

I watched Noelle pull away from the window and then I started pacing the floors. I didn’t know what I was waiting for; Noelle was going to find out one way or another. I pulled out my phone and dialed Jessie, another demon I’d taken a fancy to.

“Can you come over?” I asked and I heard her laugh. I rolled my eyes, running my hand over my hair.

“F**k you, Jessie. I need to let a load off,” I sighed.

“You know there’s a price to pay,” she hissed and I squeezed my eyes close.

“I’ll pay you. Get here,” I growled, hanging up and slumping onto the couch. I held my head in my hands, but then felt fingers tracing against my neck. I sat up and saw Jessie smirking at me. She had her long black hair, curled and she was wearing a scandalous red dress that made me wet my lips. I went to grab her hips, but she pulled away, her eyes narrowing at me.

“You don’t touch me until I get my money,” she whispered and I gritted my teeth. I pulled out a wad of cash and went to hand it to her, but I pulled back just as she tried to grab it.

“This is for the next 4 days,” I hissed and she groaned slowly, but finally agreed. I handed her the money before pulling her onto my lap and kissing her fiercely.

“How long have you been without some intimacy?” Jessie laughed and I growled deep in my throat, grasping the back of her neck and pulling her back to my lips. Her nails dug into my back as I kissed her neck.

Jessie stood on the porch, puffing on a cigarette while I laid on the couch watching TV. I thought having sex would relieve a little stress, but it only helped for about five minutes and I was stressed again. She came back in and sat on me. I wrapped my arm around her waist and she looked at me with a devilish grin.

“Where’s your little prodigy?” she hissed through gritted teeth and I pushed her off me.

“She went home,” I spoke, draining a beer.

“Must be the life being a f*****g guardian,” she groaned and I pushed her off of me. She looked at me in disgust and I shook my head opening another beer.

“You know I didn’t want to be a guardian, okay?”

“Yeah well, you’re above all of us now. You haven’t even-”

“Shut up, Jess! You have no idea what’s going on, alright? This isn’t what you think it is!” I screamed, pinning her up against the wall where she just glared at me. Her eyelids fluttered and I set her down. I ran my hands through my hair and drained my beer.

“Why did you even invite me here? So you could f**k me and forget all your problems?” she screamed, slamming her fist against my chest.

“Jessica! Stop it!” I erupted and I saw fear in her eyes.

“Just, uh, sit down and we’ll talk. I’ll talk to you,” I spoke softly and she looked hesitant, but she agreed, sitting on the couch. She grabbed one of my beers and cracked it open as she sat up against the couch.

“You don’t know anything about me, Jessica. Nobody does except Allan,” I spoke, knowing I was about to risk everything.

“What do you mean?” she asked, her eyes narrowing and I sighed.

“I’m not really a guardian anymore.”

What?!?!?!? This chapter is a whirlwind and then to drop that plot twist...wow. I'm so shocked that I don't know what to say except...when is the update??? :) (fantastic chapter)
