Red

Red

A Poem by callipygianphiltate
"

I'm an outleir, Because I'm red

"
RED
At first glance it's war,
At the second it's love,
Then blood.

I remember- as a child,
... My favorite color was blue,
But- Soon- I discovered,
... The world was too blue.

Red was next,
But my peers always preferred blue,

Red is not perceived as a calm color,
But when it cradles me,
I ponder...why can't blue cradle me,
the same way red can...

When I was little,
Many girls liked pink,
They would wear skirts,
Dresses,
Why didn't I want that?

I wasn't obsessed with horses,
I liked to write and draw,
With colors that weren't blue and pink,
The boys chose blue,
The girls chose pink.

But I'm an outlier,
Because I'm red.
