Wind

Wind

A Poem by Kayla

You are the soft gust of wind

On an August day,

That so swiftly pinned

My hair behind my ears.

I want to inhale you

And hold my breath.

It's much too

Soon to let you go.

I feel you everywhere,

But I never see

The breezy air

That you're composed of.

Sometimes, you're chilling.

You make me want to run,

But rather unwillingly.

You can be frightening.

You can spin quickly,

And destroy things;

Or you can speed the trickling

Of water drops.

You can be sweet,

And fill my soul to the top

With warmth.

You mostly go unobserved,

But you're a necessity.

You can't be preserved.

You perform without a flaw.

I need you,

As many others do.

Just in a new

Sort of way.

You're soft to the touch,

And you like to share,

But I don't have much

To give.

You save me daily

From a horrible death

Of failing

To thrive.

You're such a wonder.

You're everything;

From a whisper of thunder,

To the mist of new-fallen rain,

And I've found you.

And you have found me, or I you, I cannot remember. Which ever way it was I am glad - I love the naked emotions in your poem, the love within the words.

This is beyond imaginative. You spoke about it in such an elegant way and yet made the images so clear to interpret. Wonderful.
