First FlightA Poem by Kayla
Fragile and slight with outstretched wings,
she makes the jump without her mother's guidance. Baby blue, and incredibly soft, she sings. In her descent from the warm twigs, she regretfully remembers her past risks of diving too soon, leaving her bruised spirit in the sticks. She wonders if it is worth the risk to learn to fly above the rest. Is a life without chances worth living at all? She was lifted with one airy breeze and instinctively fanned her feathers as she matured and fell in love with her new art.
