Insatiable Appetite

Insatiable Appetite

A Poem by Kayla

fear ruins hope. fear
ruins hope in a hazy
smoke that stings

your eyes. The
eyes that I
used to live in. I used
to live in those eyes.
big hazel eyes.

hope blinds the
optimistic. hope
shields eyes in
a constant cycle of
radiant darkness.
blind, naive to the
ways of the advantageous.

you weakened my
mustang spirit, like
trampled wildflowers
trampled

wildflowers
stripped of their
petals.
stripped of hope. stripped
of you.
