Mr. Gold

Mr. Gold

A Poem by kaylabear500584

Today is my very first birthday,
I'm not a day old.
But today I met my purple teddy bear,
And named him Mr. Gold.

Pretty purple teddy bear,
How pretty are you?
You make my day brighter,
When I look to you.

Mr. Gold you make life so wonderful,
With your smile so bright.
You make me dream of life untold,
How I can't wait to see what life can hold.

Mr. Gold I turn five today!
Isn't that so great?
Remember when I was short,
And shoved cake in my face?

I'm so big and tall now,
Mr. Gold agrees..
Mr. Gold's my best friend,
As he'll always be.

Wow, today's a big day,
You only turn 10 once.
I can ride my bike now,
Oh how its so fun!

Mr. Gold rides with me,
Although sometimes he's scared..
I put him in the basket,
And go as fast as I dare.

Mr. Gold loves me,
And I love him too.
Best friends forever,
Until the sky's not blue.

Finally I'm 13,
A teenager at last.
Mr. Gold sleeps with me still,
Although my brother laughs.

Oh how much I love Mr. Gold,
But my friends say I'm too old..
"Throw him in the trash." Moms says,
Like she doesn't give a damn.

But not today,
Not ever..
Me and Mr. Gold are best friends forever.

Today's my sweet 16,
I found Mr. Gold in the addict..
My purple friend forever,
Has gotten pretty ragged.

I hold Mr. Gold so close to my heart,
I bet he hears it beating..
"I made a promise," I say,
Like he hears me speaking.

"I said to you forever friends we'd always be,
I broke to you that promise..
For that I'm sorry..
Today I make a new one to you,
I hope you find it grand..
I promise forever will you be mine,
And I will always love you,
Until the end of time.
Sorry I forgot you,
For oh so long,
I love you Mr. Gold,
I have all along."

So Mr. Gold and I,
Became best friends again..
I ignored the comments,
People gave to it.

Now I'm 25,
My have I grown..
I have one kid now,
His name is Jerome.

Jerome loves Mr. Gold,
As much as I do..
But now Mr. Gold is played with so much,
He has turned a shade of blue.

Oh my, time has flown..
I am much too old..
Mr. Gold remains with me,
But Jerome has left home.

Turning 65 with Mr. Gold was grand,
Unfortunately, that was the last day I had spend...
Mr. Gold and I were friend for all my life,
But as I promised him..
Forever will he be mine.

Although he's with my son's daughter now,
He is always and forever mine.
I know she'll treat him well,
And love him just like I..

Jeromes daughter's three now,
And oh how big and tall she'll be..
I'm sure Mr. Gold will agree...
