Valentine’s Day Dread.

It’s hard confessing to someone on the most romantic day of the year.

Valentines day is soon
and I don't know if I should confess
or if I have enough room
in my heart for a rejection.

I need to love outside of a screen,
outside of reposts and TikTok's.
I need to hold your hand and play with your hair,
to hold you close and be sure I won't end up hurt.

Should I make you paper flowers
and a hand written confession
with your favourite chocolates on the side?
Would that be too much?
Could you feel the same way?

Love scares people away
and you're the only one I've wanted to stay,
but emotions are overwhelming
and will make or break me
this Valentine's day.
