Fallen from grace.

Fallen from grace.

A Poem by kayla_ajc
"

Icarus aimed too close to the sun and fell, it was too late for Daedalus to help him, it’s too late for them to ‘forgive’you.

"

Dark eyes,

realise

they love you for your faith.

You’re their Icarus,

you’ve fallen from their grace.

Man or woman

that doesn’t matter,

to anyone but them

for you’ve betrayed their God

and loving you is now sin.

Dark eyes,

realise

his words are their path

and you’ve strayed away

never to come back.

They are holy

and you are tainted

by the fruit of the serpent,

by the taste of love,

that they could never begin

to understand.

Her light eyes beg you

to realise,

their Gods love is as tainted and evil

as the sulphur

that they believe swayed you

to love her

more than the light.

kayla_ajc
did i overuse or ruin “dark eyes, realise” with “her light eyes beg you to realise”?
