stargazing on the dead grass

stargazing on the dead grass

A Poem by krystle
"

I've had a strange fascination with the moon since I was a kid, the title of this poem simply means the night sky will stay beautiful and alive for eternity, even while this earth is dying.

"
There is a peace I get
from the moon

that makes me linger on to it's unreachable craters
and it's soldiered stars

And I know some say
'there is no life on the moon'

but oh dear how wrong you are.
The moon itself
is one, big, luminous life.

that supplies so much wonder
to mine.

The powers of the light of the night the moon beams shine bright and light up your mind. Such good poetry you share. Loved reading you. Interesting stuff.

i'm glad you think so, thank you for your reviews :)
Yes, the moon is a truly mystifying power sources for writers. So many cultures have been inspired by its radiant beauty. I've always been impressed by how the gravity of the moon changes the tides of the ocean.

Your last two stanzas shows how energy and inspiration are passed on in the world. Just because there aren't city blocks of children, and football stadiums full of people, doesn't mean the moon is dead. You challenge the typical notion of life, and I think that is truly valuable.

i have no idea, thank you so much!
I agree with you, the moon is absolutely radiant, and how could something so full of beauty not be full of life. Even if it not life as human beings classify it, I think it has an energy to it. After all, it controls the tides. Real power lies within its beauty.
