pleading beauty

pleading beauty

A Poem by krystle

I'll never understand how it's so easy to give up on a garden
but so hard to wait for a trash can, two feet infront of you.

how it's more normal to see a field full of pollution,
than it is to see a newly built playground or orchids.

Isn't anybody worried for the day
when the earth stops restoring the beauty we've taken advantage of

and leaves us to depend on each other for it?

Love the fact that you took observation and left the reader with a question. From this I get a "be the beauty you want to see in the world" kind of vibe. Very powerful!

The world is a strange place - ever changing, ever evolving. Some of these changes are good, and some, not so good. Your poem very nicely conveys the shame of seeing out natural resources dissappearing in front of us. I enjoyed it very much. You are a good writer!

You questions many things in the poem. I'm old. the land I live on when I was a kid was forest and country. Soon the great forest will be a myth and photos. I like the question at the ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

I think I will stick with words to find the beauty in things rather than rely on another to find it for me

Your words are profoundly haunting... the reflections of the world around you being torn and tattered by carelessness... And yes, what of the generations to come? What will await them if we forget to treasure the world?

This is a truly beautiful expression of the decrepit nature some beings of resorted to. I could envision the fading elegance of our world. Thank you for sharing. I enjoyed the read.
