Put It Aside

Put It Aside

A Poem by kayamon215

Time to wake up
everybody shoes and blues
sitting in jail
why'd I have to choose
the drugs over everything
when all it ever bring
is lies and pain
making my brain
go insane
a lot of hurt and shame
but now am done with this game
i am taking my life back
time to get it on track
because for too many years i slacked
off
and sadly i paid the cost
messing with the piper
you'll always end up lost
i hope my words can stop at least one kid from going down that path
because in the after math
your life will always crash
at rock bottom
with the devil cheering I got em
hopefully through this you'll stop him
before he has complete control
it dont take long for addiction to gt on a roll
to the point you cant stop it
thinking of ending it all when you cant cop it
you just cant win
from the firs time its in your skin
you fall in love
then you start to put it above
responsibilities and obligations
it becomes the main topic of your conversations
ain't no way you can be patient
for the next high
feeling like you wanna die
to do it one more time almost nothing you won't try
to do to get more
cuz you ain't tryna feel sore
this s**t gotchu whipped like a pimp witta w***e
fore-sure it'll keeping on slaying you
until the day it's laying you
inna casket
I ain't being drastic
you go on thinking you can mask it
but it'll eat you alive
if you don't put it aside

Really reminded me off a rap. Very strong words :) There's a few spelling and punctuation mistakes though, maybe check those out :)

No problem, thanks for sharing! :)
I LOVE this. I like the fact that you have done this things and are telling everyone the bad side effects that it gives off. I do try to tell everyone that it isn't the way to go. Most of the teens in my generation won't listen to their parents, not even their own peers. We have to pray and hope that it's not too late to stop them from to continue walking down that road. The addiction of the drugs is probably the hardest to overcome I believe. I haven't put myself in their or your position. It must be difficult though. I am glad that you gave it up and is giving advice to those that chose the same old route as you did. Keep clean from it! Awesome write.

thank you for the review i appreciate it
This was a very interesting poem about struggling with one's past and how tempting it is to fall into addictions, and how difficult it is to overpower them after they overwhelm you. Best of luck to the speaker
