Insecurities

Insecurities

A Poem by Kay J.

Insecurities stare me down
I run till I can't breathe
I still find time to drown

My body is weak
and I need you to hold me
But you stare me in my face
And tell me I tell me how my life is bleak

Love is a word
It's all it's ever been
I try to show you I adore you
But you take my affection
And feed it to your pet ego
Where do we go?

I can try
Maybe I'll win
Yet I can't cause the tears won't stop
You make me cry

Insecurities stand on my chest
And they look a lot like you
