Little Heart

Little Heart

A Poem by Kay J.

My sad heart;
Once so vibrant and slow,
The quiet tranquil peace
Is now surrounded by devastation and darkness

My little heart was too naïve to know;
To know about the calm and the storm
My heart no longer vibrant and slow,
Now it beats fast and is cold
Because I know a man who once painted the sky red,
'Till he tore it up and drank instead

Now steady your feet
'Cause everything is going to fall,
The kingdom you built for fun
Is where you  go to hide
Hide from the darkness by candle light
You wrap your hands around your throat tight
Slowly,
Slowly,
Goodnight.
