Spring (ACT 1 - Scene 1)

Spring (ACT 1 - Scene 1)

A Screenplay by Alya Usman
"

My very first play. Needs work - i know!

"

ACT 1

Scene 1

Curtains rise. Schere Dawan walks up to the lectern. Lights follow him as he walks.

SCHERE: (Pushing back his glasses) Little does the teardrop know the sadness of    life.

The world is divided into four parts: Summer, winter, autumn and spring. Each of these parts has an emotion of its own. Summer for madness, anger and rage; winter for fear, coldness and bitterness; autumn for mysteriousness, unusualness and silence; and spring… spring is… everything: Everything to make you smile, to make you laugh, to make you… happy.

The story that is to be told, after these curtains fall and rise, is a story of a blooming flower - an elixir to sadness and grief.  It all started when my Bakudian rival, Excel, moved into the human world. Bakudo is a duel between two Othurcals, a death match to be more appropriate. We may choose any weapon we want. Our sole mission is to eradicate our opponent or fight until he withdraws – a battle to express your strength. Othurcals are beings like me that live on another land: Pelikan.

We are similar to the humans of Earth. But for long we have thought humans as insignificant, timid and feeble beings who have no power to protect themselves and their beloveds, but… how would… how would I have known that these feeble humans have so much… strength in them… such strong emotions to mould another’s character?

This elixir, of whom I talked earlier about, is this feeble human - One that has an ability to change the lives of me and my friend. This person is… Spring Van.

                                                                                                                           Curtains fall.

WOW...I don't really ever review screenplays but this was REALLY good! It sounds like it would be a really good play or movie. I could never write something like this...I can't really tell stories like yours unless they are in poem form. You have quite the talent! Great work! :)

Add couple musical numbers and I hope I can get a ticket to see this play on broadway!! Great job [: You really have a talent for this genre of writing. This was great, awesome job! Written nicely, can't find any mistakes and it flows beautifully. Exceptionally well job!

it is refreshing to read a good story that isn't a story. what i mean is that scripts are refreshing, it takes more skill to write a good script than a good story. this comment is for acts 1-7, not just this one. Overall, i like it, a lot. continue your work, perhaps you could even get a play to tour the U.S. again, i like it. best of luck!

OMG! I'm thrilled to find myself a play writer! AWESOME!
I like the concept but...Why do you always add on some 'anime' names to your stories? =P Bakudo, Pelikan...On second thought, is it even anime? =P
Love it.
Keep up the spirit my friend's younger sis.

I love reading screen plays, scripts, basically all visually stimulating work that requires use of imagination... Spring does that for me!

Keep writing!
