EmptinessA Poem by kaekopoem about societal normsWhat is the point of pleasantries,
mindless conversation for the masses? A "howdy-do" in the elevator a "have a good day" on the tram. What is the point of meaningless words that you don't even want to say? Just societal pressure to smile and ask how was your day. Because it's "cordial" and "friendly", but what does that even mean, cuz I don't really give a f**k about your life or your scene. I don't want to waste my time cuz of some unsaid f*****g rule. I want to stand in awkward silence and ignore your gazing look. Empty conversations in the name of social norms, but really there's no life inside just feigned interest in the core. © 2013 kaekoAuthor's Note
