monotony

monotony

A Poem by katy

on my way home
driving down the same street
i always take home.
i leave the radio off
and try to do some thinking.
search for important details
i previously missed.
i listen to the drone
of the air conditioner
i had fixed last summer.
i can't remember anything
useful from the day.
i am just a passive
moving from A to B
and back again.
nothing important
or deserving of attention
from today.
i am only able to think about
how good it will feel
to get home.
i guess i expected tonight
would be different.
