Eulogy part 2A Poem by ApocalypticChick
Everyone knew what was yet to come
Not the slightest whisper a sob or a hum Everyone that stared at me looked amazed I looked at them and me their gaze It was time for me to speak Or times so great and times so bleak The people stared at me in awe As I spoke of times that flawed The greatness of these people are Shared by people wide and far Their souls have touched the lives of many And done so willing fully for no penny The candles dimmed at the light shut off All you could hear was a mere cough The blackness swelled up inside the people Reminders of incidents that had been so lethal The casket road right down the isle The people behind left without a smile The tear covered seats were left to dry And until then the people must lie The children grabbing at the coffin The husbands hankerchief is softening With the gentle streaking of his years The children now remembering their fears The lined up one by one Following after their mangled son His stomach ripped open While outside was soaking The little colored flags atop the cars You'd be able to spot from afar The flashing, blinking lights you see All reminders of what were and could be Remembering times of pure love and pure hate For now we must think that this was fate Because we have now found our place... © 2012 ApocalypticChickAuthor's Note
