Chapter 5~Math Note

Math Note

 

As we waited for Kyle to finish reading the letter we motioned for our friends to come.  Then went through the line and then Kyle finished.  After Kyle read it

he said that once we all finished reading it we should all get together to listen to it.  I agreed but told them what John's mom had told me.  Kyle understood but he still thought that they should be with me when I listened to it.  He gave a reason too.  He said that it's most likely depressing or it will

bring back memories so if I cried then they would be there.  Suddenly  Kyle grabbed me I mean he pulled me and held me close to him.  He whispered in my ear

telling me not to tell Poppy.  I shook my head agreeing and I grabbed him back.  I yearned for the grasp of a strong arm.  It reminded me of how John used to hug

me.  Only John stood up from behind me and put his arms around me.  Kyle was sitting down but that didn't make a difference he was holding me like John.  I think he was doing it to try and comfort me.

 

I couldn't believe I was actually enjoying it.  Kyle.  He was embracing me.  In the presence of John too.  I kept telling myself to not enjoy it because my heart belonged to John I tried pushing away from Kyle but he was too strong.  He told me that John would have wanted me to move on.  I replied by saying that he also would have wanted me to mourn for a longer period of time.  Kyle objected and said that's not necessarily true.  I knew I couldn't have won either way.  So I just let it happen.  I noticed out of the corner of my eye that Kyle had a piece of paper in his pocket folded up.  I focused on the note and saw that it said to Kyle from John.  I quickly grabbed it before he could stop me.

Author's Note

This is sort of a climax, but more towards the beginning/middle of the story. The next chapter is very important in the story.
