Chapter 4~One Last Note

One Last Note

 

As my friends know I can be really nasty and I'm very overly protective of them. 

If someone hurts them I'm there in seconds flat to help them.  All of us are

inseparable.  Even my friends and John's friends get along really well.  We all

met up at the funeral and went through hell there.  I went with Kyle and Theresa

because I didn't want to walk in there alone because it was open casket.  The

wake was the worst part of all.  Again I went with Kyle and Theresa to the wake. 

The lid to the casket was wide open showing his gorgeous face with his bangs

covering his eyes.  His hands were folded over his stomach and he appeared to

have been clutching a note.  As we went through the wake procession line his

mother pulled me aside asking for a word.   She had explained that he wanted to

be buried with a copy of a note he had wrote to his girlfriend.  Then she handed

me the original copy:  hey so I realize that it's really really early to be

writing this because your birthday isn't until like a few months from now but I

just wanted to say how much you mean to me.  And by doing that wait for me at

your locker right after school.  You'll see what I mean. In case something

happens to me or whatever then ask my mom about my portable tape recorder. 

Listen to track 26 I made it track 26 because that's your birthday so I would

always remember what track it was.  So yeah happy birthday hunnie!

I practically cried as I read the note I motioned for my friends to continue on.  As I was crying I noticed more of my friends walked in.  Sierra, Jenna, Eliza, and Elysha walked in and I could've sworn Kyle texted all of our friends because they all came in at that moment.  Not shortly after Russ, Patima, and Lucas came in.  Two other girls walked in with them I had recognized them right away because one was lucas' girlfriend and the other was her best friend.  I thought their names were Nadia and Carley but I could have been wrong.  My friends motioned for me to go to them so I hugged John's mother one last time and as I walked away she called me over one last time and have me John's tape recorder.  She told me to listen to it when I was alone.  Only completely alone.  I couldn't understand why.  I thanked her and walked over to my friends.  Kyle seemed much more interested in the note then me.  Theresa was probably also very

anxious to know what it said but she waited.
