Sore

Sore

A Poem by Kat

Breathe life into me, give me some light

Follow the path of your eyes that I might

See inside your shadowed waters

Cast off ancient chains you bear

Come close, reach out, I will take you where

All life can be taught us

I watch from inside my aching loneliness

Trapped in the cage of trust that only us

Humans make for ourselves

Break me with thoughtless, careless words

chosen without respect for the shade of my moods

And the deception of my longing

Torture me by turning elsewhere for comfort

Spurn my need for me to know all your thoughts

And my last hope of belonging

I cry out silently for you to see I love you

But know you don't care, less still love too

Every day I die without you thinking
