Tragedy of Youth

Tragedy of Youth

A Poem by Kat

Softly into the still and silent night

Distant and far above the ravaged scent of air

Enclosed within the netting of this tortured skin

Hardened without to ease the fear within

Perish in vain, but swift the feeling comes

Broken and cold, restored in perfect, pensive dark

Along this lightened way, a wish to know the truth

Does not resolve the Tragedy of Youth

It curtains all to leave the lost abandoned

Confuses only those who raise a sigh of harnessed pain

Potent gifts release the chained to always wander

Within the heaving swell, amidst the clouded thunder

Caress away the troubles of my heart

Lift the burden of truth from stooping shoulders

I ask in vain for strength to still a longing

To bring to me a feeling of belonging

When right becomes apparent to my sense

And eases all these vagrant woes I carry with me

When honest love imparts from my heart to the sun

Then all in all my sadness may be done
