Till Death Do Us Part

Till Death Do Us Part

A Poem by Kat

A tear moves quietly down her cheek,

Dangling from her chin,

Before falling slowly to the floor.

It is a tear of joy,

Tinted with a gray tear of sorrow.

She stands before the altar,

Listening as her beloved makes his vows.

Promising her his life and his love,

Till death do us part.

Another tear slips down her face,

She catches her lip between her teeth,

As the words cut her like a blade.

He smiles, and she remembers

The agonizing secret she has kept,

For her death may be sooner than he thinks.

I really like this. It catches describes the feelling of one of womans most happy days, but with a little twist at the end. Great Job!

That is really touching... beautifully melancholy... I wouldn't change a thing.

I once knew a guy who found out is finance had a short time to live but still married her.
