SMIF:

I was trying to explain to a repeatedly rejected suitor tonight why/how you are my soul mate. And after hours of discussing my love for you and why we are not together and why I choose to remain single forever, I said something that I hadn't thought to think before.

I told him:

I miss him like crazy, but he was right.

It's better to say goodbye loving each other, rather than say goodbye hating each other.

It's true. I'm happy by myself. And I do miss you with every fiber of my being every single day, but I am happy nonetheless. If you had stuck around with me falling more in love with you every day, I would have ended up miserable. At least now, I do not have to live with the terror of you not marrying me or leaving me because you are not here to do any such thing.

Proof positive that you are my soul mate. And smarter than me. Honestly, I've felt with your loss a distinct loss of logic/reason. Lol.
