One day i told myself that I would start running, and everyday I would tell myself "no excuses" I would force myself to put on some running shoes and then I would go plop outside. It worked for a couple of days, then I started running slower, shorter distances and above all I wouldn't feel good. It all started going downhill from there until one day I went over to a friend, I stayed by her for five days and we had a blast. She lived on a farm and we got ourselves dirty every day, so when I came back I it started raining... like crazy, and for a couple more days I didn't go for a run. The day after it had stopped raining six o clock in the afternoon I glimpsed outside and decided that I had to go for a run. I stepped outside and felt a force overcome me, I started to run and only then I realized how good I felt.. How empowered I felt. And I also saw the truth then... That I loved to run..It was not a burden and it never was, all this time I had been avoiding a friend, who made me feel good and without knowing it I had missed her.
So what I want to say is do not ever fight against it, it will only make it harder. Just take a breath, just look at it from another angle whether it is a person, animal, or thing. You may have many obstacles or enemies, but one thing that I have came to see was that the only big obstacle is yourself. YOU are your biggest enemy, because only YOU control yourself. YOU decide what you do and do not like. Also when you just focus on your end goal and never on enjoying on having fun, when you accomplish your goal then... It will probably not feel as good as you expected it to ... And when you stop letting the unconscious part of the brain decide those things for you, and just grasp the decisions in your own hand. It will be hard at first but these are the words that I always remember, and it helps, just see their meaning:
Maybe it was coincidence but I had some epic music in the background when I read this and oh Damn did it come alive.
I like how you tell your story with the running first before you campare that to all challanges we can face in life.
There was wisdom in the words and yes it was inspirational. The next time there is a battle in my life I am going to try those words
Don't fight it,
Flow with it,
You will love it.
Nice word look forward to your next piece.
