The snow just puts the icing on the cake
Sending me into sad holiday memories
Because this year we aren't having Christmas
We barely have enough money for groceries.
And when Santa desides to skip our house this year
Because we don't have his milk and cookies
I won't blame him for we don't have the spirit
And we don't have any little ones, rookies.
No Christmas tree standing tall in the living room
So that means no presents underneath
We are going to have to be johobath witnesses
With no christmas lights up and no holiday wreath.
No cheerfull smiles as we toss the sparkling tinsel
Because we won't be buying any this time
No Christmas dinner to celebrate with the family
No tasteful eggnog and no coconut with the lime.
Holiday spirits don't live here in this home
No friendly Christmas carols to hear
Because Santa is skipping this home, this time
We won't be celebrating Christmas this year.
We havn't bothered taking the ornaments from the attic
Because we have no where to hang them
No stockings dangling from the fire place
Just awkward silences and drunken mayhem.
I used to think this holiday was so beautiful
Something to celebrate, not something to fear
But we have no harmony left in this home
We won't be celebrating Christmas this year.
