Family Ties

Family Ties

A Poem by Kaotic Barbie
"

Having family separate. Family ties being broken.

"

Looking in this old picture book
Brings back to me the times i cherished
Times that held the keys together in one
Times that have long since vanished.

What happened to our happy smiles?
I want to take time back counter-clockwise
Because we are not what we used to be
When did we break our family ties?

I guess the string got cut awhile ago
When greed and envy broke out
This didn't have to go this way
We all didn't have to take this rout.

Because it leaves a whole in my heart
Family is what holds one together
When rough times are at present
And all i have is my own to tether.

Family gatherings no longer happen
We are but very different strangers now
I guess i will have to start a new chapter
Lift up my rosey cheeks and endow.

No more beautiful laughing pictures
My challeneged heart can not defy
Our family will never be the same
So long broken family ties.

Author's Note

Kaotic Barbie
Greed and Envy can really screw a family..its just sad enough that a family would even LET that type of thing happen.

Wow.. it is so true of families especially when the matriarch passes. There is always one or two family members that bring a family together, when they pass, it is nearly impossible to get everyone together after their funeral. Funerals and weddings are all that is left to congregate for. Holidays are still there with my family, but my mom demands it and we all love and cherish her. When she is gone, the bond will probably, sadly be broken.
