In Memorium

In Memorium

A Poem by k. brown
"

For my mother; rest in peace

"

There are places about me that can only be filled
with dewdrops and winter sunshine;

I have sights inside my heart
of homes I have never seen, yet
I cannot express how deeply
the love I feel as
I tend to their gardens;

footprints of snowtime turn
to muddy spring rain-days

so

I plant a tree, here, in the memory
of an Eden I never had,

a place of conviction and
sunkissed promises.
Though only in mind,
I like to think of it as my haven--

a place I return to, over and over,
with a pleasant sigh
of relief.
