Letting go

I wrote this when my best friend told me that she will be switching schools next year. She has helped me through so much and she is the most amazing person I know.

It may be hard,

But I have to let her follow her heart

I may not want to let go

but she wants to go solo

I remember the time we first met

and I’ll never forget

the way she asked if I was okay

That was the day

The day I found my best friend

I never wanted the fun to end

But it’s time for her to find her place

I’ll keep the photos just incase 

she forgets about me

but at least she’ll be free

She’s gonna be an amazing writer

but to me, she’ll always be a fighter

She’s been through a lot 

But she still fought

I’ll never forget the one

who taught me how to have fun

I used to be full of doubt

then she became the rain after my drought

Now I am full of joy and hope

all because she helped me cope

She will stay in my memory for the rest of my life

but for now, I have to say goodbye.
