How I see my generation

How I see my generation

A Poem by kathleen

this is just something I am working on and working on editing

"

I saw my generation, the sad eyes, scarred wrist.

Bruised bodies, hurting souls.

That girl in the corner was raped last night. She scrubbed her body in the shower till the sun came up this morning trying to get the feeling of him off her skin.

The boy, laughing with his friends? His dad beats him when he is drunk.

Sad eyes, crying eyes.

Scarred, bleeding wrist and thighs.

Every person has a secret they don't tell.

Secrets hidden from their peers, from the world.

That girl who never eats lunch stopped eating full meals when she was 14, because some boys called her fat when she was already underweight.

A boy... shot himself today, he was bullied every damn day because he came out as gay.

He got tired of the pain.

So many of us are in pain.

Living has become a pain.

Society pushes us to become perfect!

Perfect doesn't exist.

Perfect is just the creator of eating disorders, anxiety, depression, self harm, and suicide.

We bully each other for being different, when that's what we need to be cherishing in this world.

We try to copy and paste everything we see!

Generation of drugs, sex, antidepressants, rape, self harm, and suicide.

We are.. the dying generation...

How can we think we can run this world one day when we can't even control our minds?
